Is your client very concerned about retirement income?

Then you are not alone. Most people are very concerned about not having enough income, or their assets lasting long enough to provide income.

Structured income planning with annuities, sometimes called "laddering" or "bucket planning", attempts to address these needs through a program that splits assets into a guaranteed income stream and a deferred growth vehicle.

But using the wrong assumptions - and the wrong deferred product - can severely undermine the quality and confidence of a plan. And the use of a structured plan will probably hinder the growth that assets would otherwise receive. However, there may be times when a structured plan is still needed.

ImmStudy is a 10-year plan of two guaranteed 5-year income phases and a simultaneous 10-year deferred growth phase. A single-premium immediate annuity is used, a fixed-rate deferred annuity is used, and the deferred phase can be an equity indexed annuity or portfolio.

Instead of assuming that the same average rate of return will be earned by the deferred investment every year for 10 years, we use a comprehensive Monte Carlo simulation that accounts for 95% of all possible returns around an average (taken from any market period you choose), and calculate the 10 year scenario 10,000 times, tabulating the ending results and presenting the findings in a simple 5-page report.

Our software allows for two basic methods of addressing income needs: simple annual withdrawals and structured income, so that you can determine which method best suits your clients overall goals as well as income need. The  Income Planning Suite offers "Lite" versions of these two methods, for use via the internet.
